PA Prospectors A Chapter of EGPA
Minutes of June 20, 2009
The
meeting was opened by President Brady Crist.
The
Secretary and Treasurers reports were read and approved.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
(1) The July and August meetings will be at the Frank Gray property. (2) The
July meeting will be our major outing.
EGPA
updates: (1) Rick Atkins currently has a map of the newly acquired property in
Knoxville, PA. They will be mailed to all EGPA members at some point. (2) There
is another property that has just been added to the Pennsylvania properties in
Linesville, PA., near Meadeville, PA. (3) Dredging-EGPA is close to getting the
dredge permit for the York property. (4) The South-Central Chapter will be
having an outing at the York property from July 30-August 2, 2009. (5) The
Virginia outing has been canceled.
OLD
BUSINESS: (1) July outing committees overview was done. (2) Prospecting at the
outing will be limited to non-motorized equipment (e.g. pan or sluice box) or
recirculating equipment such as the Gold Buddy. (3) The Metal Detecting group
will be handling the hunts. The cost for the adult hunts will be $10.00 each.
There will also be a metal detecting hunt for the kids. There will be one or two
treasure chests buried for us to find as well. (4) The Chinese auction will be
set up Saturday morning. Dixie is in charge of this. (5) See Bob Hettinger or
Rob Schultz for camping assignments. (6) Don Schmidt is in charge of the Duck
races. (7) The agenda will be posted on the web site for the Outing.
NEW
BUSINESS: (1) It’s Cody’s birthday! Every one got to wish him a happy
birthday and have some cake. Thank you to everyone who made this possible.
Paul
Lindenmuth recommended to everyone who metal detects to get a pin-pointer if you
don’t already have one. It really makes finding your target easier.
For
the door prize raffle, Henry donated a bag of ore dirt and Rick from EGPA
donated two bags. Thank you both.
The
raffles were held and the meeting was adjourned for the Potluck.
