Minutes of April 18, 2009
The
meeting was opened by President Brady Crist.
The
Secretary’s and Treasurer’s reports were read and approved.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
(1)
The new club website is up.
(2)
The May and June meetings will be held at the Montour-Delong Fairgrounds.
Bring your gold pan to do some panning at the May meeting.
(3)
Check the website for information on EGPA’s outing at the Lucky Strike
in North Carolina.
OLD
BUSINESS:
(1)
Nonprofit status-this is still being worked on. We will check with Wayne
about this.
(2)
July outing - the following committees were set up: Food, Common Dig,
Metal Detecting Hunts, Campsite Assignments, and the Chinese Auction.
Bob Hettinger will talk to Frank Gray just to touch base with him. It was
suggested by Henry to get washed sand this year instead of dirt for the common
dig. The Chinese auction was discussed. Please donate used items in good
condition and/or new items that include things for men, women, and kids. Please
hold on to your donation items and bring them to the outing. Vendor who are club
members are encouraged to set up a table; there is no fee. Brady will have a
draft agenda for the outing weekend at the May meeting.

If you are planning to camp at the York property there will be a $10.00
fee if you use electricity. You must
to be an EGPA member to use the York property. If you want to camp you need to
call EGPA for the combination for the lock on the gate.
NEW
BUSINESS:
(1)
Panning tubs for use at the fairgrounds. Henry will have his large tub
and Robin/Gary, Cliff and Jerry will bring theirs.
(2)
A special drawing was held for a nugget for those who helped at the Ice
Breaker-Harold Dunstan was the winner.
Paul
Lindenmuth gave a talk on ticks and handed out cards with information.
The
meeting was adjourned. The raffles were held and the potluck was enjoyed by all.
